A path to community participation

Participation begins with the people and communities already doing the work.
Every community starts from a different place. This illustrative pathway describes how people and partners might identify priorities, understand requirements and plan the next steps together.
Listen to the community
Producers, operators, associations and local institutions hold knowledge that shapes a practical approach. An initial conversation can identify their goals, existing arrangements and the barriers they want to address.
Partners can work with the community to understand which records, permissions and services matter in its jurisdiction. The requirements and sequence will vary by activity and location.
Connect people and evidence
TradePass, GeoTag and GCI are intended to support identity, place and evidence. These foundations can help organize a wider journey alongside local knowledge, qualified services and appropriate governance.
Participants may choose to work individually, through an association or as part of a consortium. A group can clarify roles and decide how to coordinate around shared needs.
Plan the next steps
The aim is a path shaped with the community, not a single process imposed on every participant. This example is not a completed programme; availability depends on the partners and services involved.
